Making Lasting Change in 2024
Each year we recommit our selves to our mission of revitalizing communities through people and places and 2024 was no acceptation. Reflecting on previous years is how we improve, hold ourselves accountable, and set new goals for the coming year.
We would not be where we are today without our dedicated staff, they bring life to our mission and continue to make a difference in our community. We are forever grateful to them for their tireless dedication and efforts.
As we reflect on this past year, we are excited to see what is ahead for Centerboard and we welcome you on our journey.

Person-Centered Philosophy
We are at the beginning stages of successful new programs: Phoenix Rising, a Specialty Treatment Residence with 6 beds serving girls and female-identifying youth ages 12-17 who are victims of sex trafficking.
Combining with Centerboard's acclaimed We Rise Program, specialized supports are offered to help girls safely find their path out of the life.
Intensive Treatment Residence w/ Emergency Intakes (ITR) is a 6-bed ITR program that serves youth of all genders, ages 12-18, referred by the Department of Children & Families.
The program provides residents an opportunity to live in a trauma-informed, therapeutic, supportive environment while accessing the community with staff support.
Along with clinical services, the program assists youth with meeting their educational and vocational goals.
Youth & Young Adult Supported Living is designed for all genders of youth age 18-22 who are able to manage community access with limited support. The program focuses on supporting independent living skills as youth transition to young adulthood.
Residents are working towards living within a budget & saving money, food shopping & cooking, and utilizing transportation with support.
Residents are expected to be enrolled in an educational program and/or obtain employment.
Housing Assistance
Centerboard has been providing family shelter for over 20 years and has grown to be one of the largest housing providers in the State. Through a partnership with DHCD, we currently provide 272 units of scattered/transitional housing, and support many families who have successfully transitioned to permanent housing. Our rapid rehousing, trauma-informed, intensive case management services focus on quickly removing obstacles to permanent housing.
Centerboard’s Housing Services works with families throughout the North Shore that are homeless. Our programs offer credit check and repair, payment of arrearages, job readiness and employment support, ESOL classes, financial stability classes, assistance with resolving legal issues, and permanent housing search. We currently house over 392 families in need with our Hotel Expansion Program, providing temporary emergency housing as the search for a more permanent solution continues.
