Welcome to Centerboard!

We are a nonprofit human services organization located downtown Lynn, MA but servicing all of Essex County. Our mission is to revitalize communities through its people and places. We support families and young people through housing, access to employment, education and financial empowerment.

At Centerboard:

  • 100+ youth receive services to foster independent living + financial self-sufficiency through our youth housing, T.R.U.E Mentor, and We Rise programs.

  • Nearly 1,000 families are receiving services every year through our Family Resource Center to empower them in creating stable lives.

  • Almost 800 families are currently receiving housing and services through our trauma-informed programs.

$100k from Mass General Brigham

A generous grant from Mass General Brigham gives Centerboard critical support as we address the growing humanitarian crisis faced by migrants seeking asylum in Massachusetts. We are one of seven community-based organizations to receive funding.

Centerboard is proudly one of 150 local nonprofits that will share in $30 million through Cummings Foundation’s major annual grants program. We were selected from 630 applicants during a competitive review process and will receive $400,000 over 10 years.

 

Person-Centered Philosophy

Centerboard embraces a person-centered philosophy that is focused on the individual needs and preferences of each person served. At Centerboard, our staff and advocates engage in ongoing assessments with participants aimed at creating an individualized path from adversity to hope. With our person-centered services, individuals and families are provided with the tools to help them achieve independence and success through support, education, training, and a focus on healthy living and community connections. Centerboard implements this philosophy throughout our organization via training, education, printed materials, and, most importantly, our deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion work.
